We don’t argue

Of lately a dispute has been trending on social Media among Daddy Freeze, Pastor Adeboye, some Atheist and many other Pastors. The background being that Freeze as other Catholics believe has said that tithing is wrong. Calling men of God fraudsters and thieves.

In-fact he openly challenged them to prove it, also claiming that tithing was abolished by Jesus. Although Catholics pay offerings but they believe tithing is wrong.

There are a lot of things to say on this, but I’m glad the Assemblies of God has not joined in this dispute.

Pay attention to these:

1 Timothy 4:7 “Do not waste time arguing over godless ideas and old wives’ tales. Instead, train yourself to be godly.”

Matthew 7 : 6 “Don’t waste what is holy on people who are unholy. Don’t throw your pearls to pigs! They will trample the pearls, then turn and attack you.

Proverbs 26:4 “Don’t answer the foolish arguments of fools, or you will become as foolish as they are.”

2 Timothy 2 : 14 Remind everyone about these things, and command them in God’s presence to stop fighting over words. Such arguments are useless, and they can ruin those who hear them.

What many has failed to understand is that the devil is a tricky person. he knows the scriptures more than Human.

He knows how to twist the bible to suit his exact purpose.

We should remember the parable of The sower.

Recall that his first seeds were scattered on the road-side and the birds which Jesus used to represent the Devil stole the Seed.

Why should we argue about a custom handed over to us by the founding fathers, from which we have received the Holy Spirit.

We don’t need to explain anything to anyone. We have seen God, we have seen his power, we have experienced his Glory. The dead are raised to life, the sick are healed, God speaks in times of Prophesies.

Shall we now start to debate about foundations by which we have found God? NO!!!!!

Oh! I could remember some girl asking in an Assemblies of God Church if boyfriend and Girlfriend is wrong.

Brethren, times are coming when you will be asked if there’s anything wrong with Sex. And they will tell you that Jesus has abolished the Law.

But we must hold on to what we have received.

Christian, don’t argue with them. When they bring a topic that threatens your faith; the same faith by which you have seen the power of Christ, walk away, ignore them and continue in what you have received provided it is not sin or immoral.

Provided God, Man and your conscience is not hurt. Some of the people arguing with you has never experience genuine repentance, many has never felt the power of God nor heard from him.

One thing is certain, the end justifies the means.

As far as we are not doing anything that hurts God or Man we must hold on to what we have received.

Finally Brethren, Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong. (1 Corinthians 16:13)
